Nicola the branch's PR officer will be embarking on A Himalayan Trek and Tiger Conservation in aid of the Teignbridge and Totnes branch. Follow her journey fundraising the £4000 target and then the trip itself at She will be organising lots of local events including fitness classes and competitions, car boots, pub quizes, coffee mornings, bingo and plant sales.

The Challenge I will join Cats Protection in India on this exclusive fundraising challenge. My adventure starts in India’s capital Delhi before boarding the overnight train for the journey to the Lesser Himalaya where I will explore this spectacular area on foot during a 4-day trek. I will reach altitudes of up to 2842m and will walk approximately 14km per day, taking around 6-8 hours.

The Project I will spend three days in the Kanha National Park. During my time here I will learn about the efforts being made to conserve the environment, especially for tigers. Taking drives into the National Park with the hope of spotting tigers and other endemic animals. I will also get hands on and support the conservation efforts directly such as assisting with the removal of weeds, planting trees and habitat maintenance all of which are important tasks to keep the endemic plants in the National Park safe from invasive plant species which could change the ecological balance.

Monies raised will go towards Teignbridge and Totnes Cats Protection work to help rehome unwanted and abandoned cats, inform the public about feline welfare and support our free neutering campaigns.

I really do appreciate any support you can give. Thank you.

Fundraising Team Leaders – this is an exciting new role which will require you building & managing your own team of volunteers in your own locality. Full support will be given by our main Fundraising Organiser. We would like to set up teams in the following areas:- TQ7 & 8; TQ9, 10 &11; TQ12 & 13; TQ14 & EX7.

Fundraising helpers - If you would like to be part of one of these teams just let us know the location which would suit you best.
